The challenge
Most piracy exploits one of two weaknesses: a license check that is a single branch an attacker can flip, or a key format that a keygen can reproduce. Either lets a paying product become a free one, and a single leaked key can spread to thousands of installs overnight.
Defending revenue means closing both gaps at once — the entitlement must be unforgeable, and the code that verifies it must resist being patched out or bypassed. Doing one without the other leaves an obvious hole.

Can’t someone just remove the license check?
That is exactly what hardening prevents. The check is obfuscated, virtualized and tamper-verified, so removing or patching it is far harder than the single-branch edit that defeats a naïve check — and a tampered build fails closed.
Does anti-piracy require my app to phone home?
No. Offline signed license files verify locally against your embedded public key. Online activation is optional and adds node-locked seats and faster revocation.
What happens when I revoke a key?
Revocation is immediate server-side; connected clients honor it on their next check-in, and online leases are short-lived so access lapses quickly.
